Is it safe to live at West 116th St and Manhattan Avenue.?

I have admit from Columbia and was checking some safe areas. Is it safe to stay at West 116th St and Manhattan Avenue, since will have to cross Morningside Park to reach university. Candid suggestions are welcome.
