Do men judge attractiveness differently in photos than they do in person?

So many men claim that really thin girls aren't as attractive. They say that women are supposed to be curvy and that models with flat stomachs, no hips, and pointy edges look more like boys or even starved prisoners. But when a lot of guys see those photo lineups for body image surveys, they'll say that the really thin girl with no thighs or hip fat is hot. And they'll say that movie stars are hot (most of whom are size 4 or lower). Which one is right? Is it because seeing a woman in person drastically changes how hot you think she is? Like maybe if you saw a photo of her you would think she was less hot unless the photo looked really real and candid? Is it more about how a woman carries herself?
