Perhaps because there was no TEA Party, no outbursts about spending until there was a black president in office. When the national debt rose from $800 billion to $10 trillion, most of those years under Republican rule, there wasn't a single peep out of folks about spending. Two months after Obama takes office, all of a sudden spending is a huge concern. The debt limit has been raised 10 times since 2001, now we can no longer raise it. Coincidence?
