Disk drive won't open or read?

i have a Toshiba Satellite L500-128. It just happened all of a sudden, i took out my sims3 generations disc(always in it) to put in a DVD then all of a sudden it wouldn't read that disc. I tried sims 3 again and it wouldn't work either.And now my sims 3 disc is stuck inside and wont open. I've restarted multiple times and no solution. Can anyone help? Or is there a way to play sims without the disc?
