Is Samsung's quality really that bad?

I am buying a new laptop and a certain Samsung model that is on sale right now caught my eye. It looked perfect and I was about to buy it when a computer-savvy friend of mine told me that I shouldn't expect my Samsung computer to last more than 2 years. That stopped me. I would like a computer that would last at least 4 years, assuming I take good care of it. The model is RV418-A02 for the record. Should I listen to my friend and go with a different brand (Toshiba, probably) or should I stick with this Samsung? I just want a somewhat cheap, fairly-priced computer that will last me a while.

About a year ago, my little spilt soda on my toshiba laptop, it didn't work, didn't even turned on. Then, my dad decided to plug it in an it turned on! It got up to a setup screen and that's it. I can't click any keys on the keyboard, is the keyboard broke or the laptop??

My friend has been horse riding once and she bragged to other day to me and some girls that she was an amazing horse rider and can jump 5 poles which is bullcrap because I've been riding for 9 years and I can only do cross poles. She said that she was a figure skater when all she has done is gone with me 4 times, I've been a skater for 8 years and can only slightly do a camel spin, She said she was a famous model which could be true except the famous part. She said that she was related to the queen and somehow her mum is from new zealand when one day she said she was from austria. How much space does an emulator take up and will i get any viruses from it?

I just got a new computer from Toshiba and i was thinking about putting an emulator on it but i also need the computer for college notes and school work so I don't want to take up too much space on it and it definitely can't give me a virus for said reasons. If I do get an emulator, I'm also torn between it being a gamecube, xbox, or playstation 2 emulator. If anyone could help me answer my questions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
