I need help choosing a DSLR+lens for under $800?

I am looking to buy my first DSLR. I have used point & shoots for too long and am craving something more. I'd like to make this somewhat of a Pro-Hobby. I want my photos to look real-life and vibrant. It must be good at live action shots as I like to take candid photographs, but it should also perform well on landscapes. Good in Low lighting would be a big plus & easy to use. I like how the Sony dlsr's have a tilt screen as many of my shots are ground level. It must also be good with close detail. I am not sure if I should be looking at only new models or some older as well? So far I am liking the Canon Rebel t2i, however I am pretty open to ideas!! Button placement does not matter to me. Live view is important. It would be great if it took full HD video as well. Battery life is important as well as image stability (very important). It sounds like I want it all huh!! haha, any help is greatly appreciated!! There are so many to choose from I am overwhelmed. If I need to be more specific please just ask anything. I'd like the photos to look as professional as possible in my price range. If that means no video that is fine. Thank you all!! Please leave any suggestions on where to buy as well, I live in Denver, CO. Thanks!!!!
